We had not been to La Costanera since it moved to its current location, since most of our trips to the beach the last few years have been to Monterey and Carmel. So glad that we made it to this new location and I'm happy to report that the food is just as great as ever!

Did miss the spectacular location of the old place, but this new location has a cool vibe of its own, and once the cocktails and food came, we didn't miss a thing. Not only that, everyone from the hostess, to our server, to the food runners, to the busboy were all so nice and polite and charming.

Michelle ordered The Hangover Soup: Seafood Medley Style. They substituted fish for her, since she didn't want mussels or clams. The soup was so delicious that Michelle made me replicate the dish at home. Look for another blog post soon with my take on this Peruvian soup, but with chicken instead of seafood, as that is the standard version. Besides, the fish, calamari and prawns, this dish also has Kabocha squash, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic with an aji Amarillo - cilantro base and rice noodles.

I had the Chuletitas de Cordero. Grilled grass-fed New Zealand lamb chops with potato gratin and chimichurri. This meal was so, so delicious. The combination of the red sauce and green chimichurri sauce was amazing with the perfectly cooked lamb chops. The potato gratin was the best I have ever had. You don't see potato gratin on too many menus theses days, but this is a reminder as why the classic dishes become classics.
If you are in the Half Moon Bay area at dinner time, head to La Costanera. Click the link for more information on La Costanera. We highly recommend!
